Counsel Magazine

Launched in 1985, Counsel is the monthly Journal of the Bar of England and Wales. As the Bar's own magazine, it is largely written by and for barristers, but features items of relevance to all lawyers and those with an interest in the law.

An effective campaigning voice, Counsel covers the key issues facing the Bar and the legal system, in addition to profiles, conference reports, personal finance, chambers' announcements and the 'Secret E-Diary' column for a lighter take on issues affecting the profession.

A distinguished editorial board, mainly drawn from the ranks of practising barristers, works closely with the editorial team to produce a vibrant monthly magazine. It is made up of barristers representing a wide cross-section of the Bar and is not part of the Bar Council's committee structure.
