About Partners for the Bar

The Bar Council is committed to adding value for the Bar by collaborating with strategic partners to offer additional benefits to save you time and money. By harnessing the combined purchasing power of around 16,000 barristers, we are able to get some great deals from established brands and suppliers at prices not normally available to individuals.

Benefits of our partnerships currently include:

  • preferential rates for business services

  • discounted financial planning advice

  • personal health and motor insurance

  • discounts on lifestyle products and services

We carefully select deals from the best and established brands, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you're receiving the most competitive offers. We are approached by many prospective partners, but before determining who qualifies to become a partner, we carefully consider the value of the benefits offered to you, as well as carrying out appropriate due diligence.

As part of the evaluation process, we:

  • Consider the relevance of the offer to our members, based on feedback received from barristers working across a range of specialisms, as well as past surveys

  • Explore alternative suppliers, so we can be confident that we partner with the best organisations

  • Run financial checks to assess the organisation's stability

  • Evaluate a brand's reputation to ensure members are provided with superior customer service and experience

This means that you can be confident that we have obtained the best possible deals from the most reputable brands and businesses. If there are any resources not currently offered that you think would value, or if you are a company wishing to offer preferential services to Bar members, please email your suggestions to the Members Services team.

While every care is taken when selecting affiliate partners, the Bar Council cannot accept any legal liability in respect of the partner organisation or their products and services. Members and Chambers must ensure that the relevant products or services meet with their requirements and that the total cost is understood.
