- A detailed summary of the regulatory requirements of fair allocation of work
- Guidance to support compliance and best practice
- Practical examples of the models for monitoring how work is distributed to different groups within chambers
- Effective use of chambers’ software to generate management information and reports and to base targets on
- Discussion of the right approach for different types of practices and chambers, and how to effectively communicate earnings data
- Using the information to support the retention and progression of under-represented groups including women and Black and ethnic minority barristers

Trainers
Rachel Krys leads the Bar Council’s Accelerator Programme, focussed on the retention and progression of women and other under-represented groups at the Bar, as well as delivering equality, fair recruitment and harassment training for the Bar Council. Rachel has been an equality and human rights campaigner for more than two decades. She was co-director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition and is chair of Women for Refugee Women. Rachel has also worked with large and small employers to tackle discrimination and promote inclusion.
Chris Sacker is a Business & Implementation Analyst at Bar Squared, which provides Lex software to chambers. Chris has worked in the chambers industry for over 20 years from different positions, including barristers’ clerk (largely in the public law sector), financial management and bespoke systems roles. His role is focused on chambers’ usage of the LEX application to best suit their business needs.
