First Party and Session Cookies

First-party cookies are those set by the "learn.barcouncil.org.uk” domain (LMS).

Session Cookies are only stored temporarily in the browser's memory and are destroyed when it is closed down, although they will survive if navigating away from the website they came from. Websites use session cookies for essential site functions such as logins, remembering your selections or preferences that you’ve previously made when looking at information or using features and services of the website.

MoodleSession cookie - this cookie is generated once a user accesses a Moodle environment and the server starts a session. The session data allows the LMS to track users as they browse areas of the site even prior to login as they are considered as guest users. If users don’t access any pages within the expiration period (2 hours) their session is ended and Moodle will log them out.
