The Bar Mentoring Service (Scheme 2) is designed for Year 12,
13 and First-year undergraduate students. The Scheme is intended to
support students from non-traditional backgrounds who are
interested in pursuing a career at the Bar.
All mentoring communications are via an online platform, which
can be accessed via www.barmentoring.org.uk,
giving participating barristers and students the flexibility and
convenience, whilst ensuring it is through a safe platform.
After a successful pilot, the e-Mentoring scheme will be
relaunched to co-incide with
Bar Placement Week; 4-8 July 2016.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

"It was a very helpful experience, and allowed me to gain
valuable insight from an experienced lawyer; my mentor was able to
provide me with a lot of support and guidance, answering any
queries I had regarding the legal profession and also providing me
with beneficial tips to improve my personal statement for my UCAS
Thank you for your help. Hopefully my application for this
year will be successful, and I will be able to pursue e-mentoring
further." e-Mentee from 2015-2016 Pilot
